In conversation with Dr Mette Boell

I had the privilege of spending time last year catching up with Dr Mette Boell from the Center for Systems Awareness and MIT Systems Awareness Lab. In our conversation, we explored the compassionate systems framework that she has developed with Dr Peter Senge, and in collaboration with teachers, school administrators, and system leaders from around the world. The framework aims to help young people build the capacity to engage with complexity, embrace diversity, and develop compassionate, collaborative approaches to addressing real-world challenges, while staying emotionally balanced. In an age of hyper-disruption and overlapping global crises, of societal breakdown and a mental health epidemic, the transformative approach to education being nurtured through this work is both timely and essential.
